Message from the President:

The Raffle at the Nov. meeting netted $31.00 for the "Top Six Fund". This a good start and we have several months to go before the Tournament of Champions in May. Lets all do what we can to make it worthwhile to be in the Top Six. I for one will bring something to contribute to this fund at the next meeting. Remember, the Top Six represent the "Hawg Hunters" so how about all us "Hawgs" supporting them. I know you will and so will I. Good fishing.

Minutes of the Meeting:

The November 2000 meeting of the Pensacola Hawg Hunters was brought to order at 7:00 p.m. on November 15, 2000. The meeting was held at the Seafood Shanty on Hwy 29 and was presided over by President Wally Cassiano. There were 26 members present with two guests.

Old Business:

The Tournament of Champions will be held next year. The date is still to be determined. Five Flags Bass Club is still an active club.

New Business:

Congratulations was in order for the out going E-Board.
There was a presentation of "Blinky" from the out going Tournament Director, Neil Springstead, to our newly elected Tournament Director, Brian Metcalf. We had two guests present for our meeting; Randall Anderson guest of Jere Jaillite and Ken Langford guest of Brian Metcalf. Wally brought in a battery charger that was raffled off, with the money going to the "Top Six" fund. Congratulations were in order for Lee Brannon for winning the battery charger. If you have anything that you would like to donate to the raffle, please contact Wally Cassiano.
Members remaining in Alabama State Federation and National Federation need to pay their dues to Brian Metcalf. The Hawg Hunters are going to have their annual banquet at the Seafood Shanty, date to be determined. Frank Kelly and Rich Cornelius have volunteered to be on the committee to head up the event.

December's Meeting will be December 13th and we fish December 16th

November Tournament:

The November tournament was held on the Tensaw River out of Cliff's Landing. There were 23 Hawg Hunters and 1 guest present to fish at safe daylight. The air temperature was hovering around 40 degrees, the skies were cloudy and the liquid sunshine was coming down all day.
The weather was miserable and six Hawg Hunters headed home early. There were a couple of Hawg Hunters that decided they had enough and headed inside to watch the Iron Bowl game. At weigh-in their were 27 fish weighed in for a total of 39.10 lbs. It was Brian Metcalf who would come in with the only limit of the day weighing in at 11.20 lbs. Brian also took big fish for the day weighing in a lunker at 3.55 lbs. Stacy Blackburn brought three fish to the scales with his biggest going 2.30 lbs giving him a total weight of 5.25 lbs. Mitch Gardner brought three fish to the scales weighing in at 3.90 lbs. Rich Cornelius brought five fish to the scales, but one of them was short and he lost his big fish yielding him 3 fish to weigh which came to a total eight of 3.10 lbs. Congratulations goes to Brian Metcalf who has picked up where he left off from last years fishing season. Stacy Blackburn, Mitch Gardner, Rich Cornelius, Fred Raby and Randy Cole rounded out the top six. Great job fishing to everyone. Hopefully everyone has had the opportunity to thaw out and not come down with the flu..
