What Do You See?
Old Buisness:

Pete Potter announced that the annual banquet was on for Saturday night, January 31, 2004. It begins at 8 p.m.
If you were not at the meeting and want to attend, please give Pete a call and let him know how many you plan to bring. At last count we are expecting 48 Hawg Hunters and significant others to attend.
Cost before gratuity is $13.95.
Mack Cramer reminded everyone of his annual Super Bowl party. It "kicks off" at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, February 1, 2004 and will last until ????

He only asks that you bring your own beverage of choice.

New Buisness:

The club sent a warm welcome to our lone guest Dewayne Kimbro. He is a boater living in Pace, Fl. He is no stranger to club fishing. He has been a member of two clubs in the Carolinas for over 14 years. Jim Sr. is his sponsor.
Frank Kelly announced that there might be a wedding reception on Saturday night at Seminole Lodge the weekend we are fishing in March. He has reserved 10 rooms at the lodge and another 4 at the Admiral. If you think the noise from the reception may disrupt your beauty sleep, you may want to take one of the rooms at the Admiral.
It was announced that Rick Bankston, owner of Buck and Bass, is planning on having a fishing and hunting flea market the 4th weekend in August.
Fred Raby announced that there were initial plans to have an open bass tournament in the memory of Wally.
The proceeds would be donated to the Leukemia Society.
The planning committee will need all the help they can get from the club to make this a successful tribute to Wally. Tentative plans are for an Apr/May tournament.

January Tournament:

The January tournament was held out
of Cliff's Landing on the mighty Tensaw. This was a one day tournament with14 boats participating. Saturday morning brought suprisingly warmer temps than one would expect for a January tournament. There was an overcast sky. A front was moving through.

At the 4 p.m. weigh-in, there were a lot of smiles and very few frowns.
There were 11 limits with eight fish weighing over 2 lbs. each.

After all were weighed in, Mack "Y.W." Cramer put another victory notch in his rod handle. He had a nice limit that weighed 11.25lbs. Not too far behind was "Old Faithful" Brian Metcalf with a limit that came in at 8.75lbs. Third place also had a familiar face; John Buck brought in 5 fish that pushed the scales to 8.45lbs. And look who came in a close fourth; "Lying" Pete Potter. Pete also had a limit, or one fish, depending on what he wanted you to believe during the tournament, which weighed in at 8.20lbs. Big Fish honors also went to Mack with a nice 3.40lb. green trout.
Best Boat honors went to the boat of Brian Metcalf and Jere Jaillite with a total weight of 15.90lbs.

Hawg Want A Be:

~Know Your Hawgs~

Say hello to Dewayne Kimbro.
He is sponsored into the club by
Jim Bailey Sr.
Dwayne just moved from Rock Creek South Carolina to Pensacola with his wife Dorthy so they could be closer to the kinfolks. That can be a good thing or a bad thing!!!
Dwayne was a member of the
Rock Creek Bass Club for 12 years before moving to Pensacola.
He owns his own bass boat but says he plans to fish as a nonboater for a while until he has a chance to learn some of the water around here.
