September Tournament:
The September tournament was held on Lake Eufaula out of the Lake Point Resort. There were 15 Hawg Hunters present to fish at safe daylight. Everyone was eager to get their lines wet on the first of a two-day tournament. The chance's of someone catching old boss hog was on everyone's mind also, it made the old excitement gauge peg out. Blast off went well, everyone headed in different directions hoping to get the morning bite and then to settle down and just try to catch a 14" largemouth, or a 12" spot, either of which would have made for a good start. The lake level was down around 5' and mostly clear. It seemed to be that the better bite came off of wood structure, but there was a lot of fish caught from grass edges. More dinks than keepers though. The first day weigh-in was at 4pm, and the boo-ray pot lives for another day. Ron Fairbanks had the big fish of the day that weighed in at a whopping 2.15 lbs and no limits were caught. It proved to be a tough day to get a keeper fish. Brian Metcalfe was leading after day one with 6.70 lbs. The Hawghunters were hoping that day two would be a little better. Most of the guy's fished the same area's as they did on day one and why not, if the confidence is there, why change. At the weigh-in, it paid off for some of the Hawghunters to do that
Mack Cramer took big fish honors on day-two with a nice fish that weighed 3.20 lbs.
